Six of us made our way out to the start line for the DRYA season-opening GLYC regatta in very dense fog. Sort of fun especially as the CSYC contingent navigated as a group effort with a few humorous moments, but wouldn’t want to do that every week! We got in one race in pretty good wind before the visibility decreased again and the committee called it a day. Note that a request for results correction has been submitted as all aboard the first two boats are confident that “Patriot” was in fact the winner in a very close finish.
This weekend Saturday May 23rd is the DYC Memorial Regatta. Instructions and party invitation here: http://drya.org/race2015/SIs/DYCSIs.pdf First start is 10:30 off of GPYC. We are one of the last starts, with our course being a 12.28 nm jaunt to the finish at DYC. As we have the past couple of years, let’s plan on having the Cal 25 fleet pull in for what has proven to be a pretty darn good party.
Forecast is for a high of 69 with a steady 7-10 knot warm southerly breeze.
Thanks,
Dave
